Fentanyl and its analogs are increasingly implicated in opioid overdoses across the United States. In 2017, ToxIC sites have reported multiple cases of such overdoses involving not just fentanyl, but also fluorofentanyl, butyrylfentanyl, and carfentanil. Clinicians are reminded to be vigilant for these cases and to remember that large doses of naloxone may be required.
